Whitney - "We Have Held Positive Talks With a Number of Players"

As well as holding talks with potential new recruits, the manager, along with John Ward and Neil Cutler, will be scouting in Scotland as he looks to add new faces to the Saddlers squad.
With Walsall's 2016/17 campaign now at an end Saddlers manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press and revealed that he has already held discussions with a number of potential signings.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Jon also revealed that he, John Ward and Neil Cutler will be taking in games as they seek out some new recruits, he said; “We have held positive talks with a number of players. Ideally we would like to get a couple in sooner rather than later. That’s what we’d like to do.

"It’s a busy time but we are being very proactive. I’m spending the weekend in Scotland taking in a number of games. John Ward and Neil Cutler are also attending games this weekend.

"It’s a great opportunity for us to spread out, take in some games and cast our eyes over a few players. It’s important with our season over that we use the opportunity to look at players in other leagues."
