As he continues to meet with several members of his first-team squad, Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press and discussed his desire to keep hold of on-loan West Ham United midfielder George Dobson, who is nearing the end of his season-long loan spell.
Speaking via the Walsall Advertiser, Jon said; "I would like to try to keep George in some way if I can and I will speak to West Ham in the next week to try to make that happen.
"Our loan players are being spoken to about other clubs. Everybody is trying to fill their jigsaw really quickly and I'm doing the same with certain players and that's the way of football.
"Isaiah sees himself somewhere else next year so I need to look at other things. George is someone I'm going to try to get and with another pre-season under his belt, he can be that influential player for us, alongside Adam Chambers."
