Walsall have offered goalkeeper Neil Etheridge a new three-year contract as they seek to secure the future of their first-choice stopper, as several clubs continue to be linked with his services.
27-year-old, London born Etheridge joined the Saddlers in July 2015 and has gone on to make almost one-hundred first-team appearances, taking the coveted first-choice role following the departure of Richard O'Donnell.
The Philippines international has recently been linked with a move to League One champions Sheffield United as the Blades look to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign. But several other clubs are also believed to be interested in a summer swoop.
Walsall and Etheridge have been negotiating a new deal for many months and it is not known whether a three-year deal will sway his decision towards remaining at the club, however a conclusion is not expected to be too far away as first-team manager Jon Whitney will need to move swiftly to secure a replacement if the former Chelsea and Fulham youth product decides to move on.
