Walsall Dealt Transfer Blow as Ugwu Agrees Chesterfield Deal

24-year-old, Oxford born Ugwu scored seventeen goals in forty-three league games for Woking last season but was a free agent after leaving the National League side at the end of the campaign.
Walsall Football Club have this afternoon been dealt a transfer blow as Woking striker Gozie Ugwu, who had been linked with a move to Banks's Stadium, has agreed a deal to join recently relegated now Sky Bet League Two outfit Chesterfield, on a two-year deal.

24-year-old, Oxford born Ugwu scored seventeen goals in forty-three league games for Woking last season but was a free agent after leaving the National League side at the end of the campaign.


Gozie, who was also being monitored by Scottish Premiership sides Motherwell and Partick Thistle, came through the youth ranks at Reading, and played for the likes of Yeovil Town, Plymouth Argyle, Shrewsbury Town, Dunfermline Athletic and Wycombe Wanderers before joining Woking in the summer of 2016.
