Following the news that Walsall had scouted Stockport County attacker Danny Lloyd, Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has taken to Twitter to confirm that his side has secured the 25-year-old's signature on a three-year deal.
Lloyd, who enjoyed a superb 2016/17 campaign, scoring twenty-nine goals in all competitions, was due to be out-of-contract this summer and was not short of admirers as sides such as Shrewsbury Town, Portsmouth, Plymouth Argyle, Motherwell, Hibernian and, of course, Walsall were all said to be keen.
This will not serve as too much of a blow to the Saddlers as manager Jon Whitney was not said to be overly keen on Lloyd, however it does show that clubs are already conducting business before the season has really come to an end and Walsall may need to get a move on if they are to secure all of their summer targets.
