Saddlers striker Amadou Bakayoko, who just completed his first full season in a Walsall shirt, has spoken to club journalists and discussed his campaign, insisting that he has time on his side and is determined to make the most of the experienced heads in the squad.
Amadou, who was speaking to club Media Officer Ash Wilkinson on the latest episode of Saddlers TV, said; "I really enjoyed (last season). There were a few tough times – but every player gets that throughout the season. I’m really enjoyed working with the group of players. And it’s good I had the likes of Simeon, Jimmy and skip to lean on.
"I talked to them a lot. For it be my first full season I am really proud of it. Simeon has been through it all in his career. He has seen lots of things and he tends to know what is coming. I have watched a few of his videos but him talking to me personally and letting me know feels has really made it clear how I need to deal with things.
"You can only thank people like that – people who are willing to help you out by passing on their experience. I only hope I can do that in the years to come."
Baka, who scored ten goals in all competitions last season, also discussed his desire to emulate some of the most successful strikers in the sport, revealing that he watches videos of Tottenham Hotspurs’ top scorer Harry Kane, Barcelona attacker Luis Suarez and Everton forward Romelu Lukaku, he said; "I watch a lot of videos at home now trying to pick things up from other strikers,” Bakayoko told Saddlers TV.
"Lukaku, Suarez and Harry Kane - there are loads of strikers who all move differently and you can pick up something from all of them.I’m focused and I want to learn."
