Walsall's Under 18s were back in action on Saturday morning as they travelled to North Wales where they took on Wrexham in the latest EFL Youth Alliance (North West) fixture of the season.
Graham Biggs' side arrived at the game on the back of two consecutive defeats. The young Saddlers losing to Wigan Athletic last weekend before suffering a defeat to Preston North End on Tuesday afternoon.
The Saddlers were hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend as they took on the team currently rooted to the foot of the table. Wrexham having won just two of their twenty-three games, losing thirteen.
Walsall were not disappointed as they ran out comfortable winners over the Dragons as a Joseph Cairns grabbed a hat-trick, with Will Shorrock and Ashley Maddocks also getting on the scoresheet. A superb victory for the Saddlers as they move on to next weekend's clash with Tranmere Rovers.
