Walsall have been named as one of a host of sides chasing the signature of Stockport County striker Danny Lloyd, who has enjoyed a superb 2016/17 campaign, scoring twenty-six goals in all competitions, chipping in with nineteen assists along the way.
The 25-year-old, Liverpool-born Lloyd is out of contract this summer and is not short of admirers as sides such as Peterborough United, Shrewsbury Town, Portsmouth and Plymouth Argyle are all joined by Scottish sides Motherwell and Hibernian.
Lloyd, who lists Lincoln City and Tamworth among his former sides, joined Stockport from Vanarama National League North rivals AFC Fylde last summer where he scored sixty-one goals over three seasons, something that has not gone unnoticed as the list of interested teams continues to grow.
League One trio Walsall, Peterborough and Shrewsbury have been keeping tabs on Lloyd, while League Two promotion hopefuls Portsmouth and Plymouth Argyle are also keen admirers of the former Lincoln City man.
Walsall will no-doubt be linked with many more players as the campaign nears its end, especially with several players heading for the exit door.
