Walsall have been named among a group of teams scouting 23-year-old Woking striker Gozie Ugwu, as manager Jon Whitney continues to consider his options ahead of the summer Transfer Window.
Oxford-born Ugwu, who is a product of Reading's youth system, has scored eighteen goals in forty-five all-competition appearances for Vanarama National League side Woking, a club which he joined on a free transfer last summer.
Gozie, who is also being monitored by Scottish Premiership sides Motherwell and Partick Thistle, has a fairly large list of former clubs having made appearances for Ebbsfleet United (loan), Yeovil Town (loan), Plymouth Argyle (loan), Shrewsbury Town (loan), Dunfermline Athletic, Yeovil Town and Wycombe Wanderers.
The forward, who is out of contract in the summer, has been in superb form throughout the season even earning the Vanarama National League Player of the Month award in November.
The Saddlers are likely to be linked with many more signings as the season nears it's conclusion with several players yet to agree terms on new deals, leaving the management with several gaps to fill.
