Walsall Secretary and Director Daniel Mole has taken to Twitter and revealed that Saddlers legend Chris Marsh, who made well over four-hundred appearances in a Saddlers shirt, was taken ill before Christmas.
Daniel, who you can follow here, confirmed that the former central defender, who also had spells with Wycombe Wanderers and Saturday's opponents Northampton Town, suffered a brain hemorrhage ahead of the festive period, but is now on the road to recovery.
47-year-old Marsh, who joined the Saddlers in 1986, was part of the promotion winning sides in 1995 and 1999 before leaving the club in 2001.
