According to reports on the Tamworth Herald website, Walsall are being joined by Shrewsbury Town and Grimsby Town in the race to sign Heather St John's teenage striker Akheem Rose.
18-year-old Akheem, who lists Pelsall Villa among his previous clubs, is understood to have spent time on trial with both the Saddlers and Shrews as he draws interest from clubs around the region.
