Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press ahead of this weekend's Emirates FA Cup First Round clash with Macclesfield Town, and has praised his side following an unbeaten October.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Jon said; "I’m happy with where we are at and I’m looking forward to pushing on. In League One we are 12th, just three points off the play-offs with a game in hand.
"I’m pleased with the progress we have made. The players have shown a great work ethic and a really taking on board what we are telling them. There a several components to a successful team. But the fact we have had more time now to work together as a group is a big help.
"All the players now understand what is expected of them. We are in a good place and ready to push on."
