According to reports on the Irish Sun's website, Jon Whitney's Walsall are set to make a move for Bohemians midfielder Roberto Lopes, who is believed to be close to agreeing a transfer to Shamrock Rovers.
Twenty-four year old, Crumlin-born Lopes, joined Bohemians from Dublin-based Belvedere in 2009 and, after seven years with the club, is said to be keen to move on to full-time football; which the Phibsborough club cannot currently offer him.
Roberto, who has also played for Home Farm and Lourdes Celtic, was said to be close to agreeing terms on a switch to Rovers before Whitney reportedly expressed his desire to speak to him before he makes any decisions on his future.
