Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press following Tuesday evening's Sky Bet League One draw with Bristol Rovers, and has offered a brief update on the injury status of club-record signing Andreas Makris, who was replaced by Maziar Kouhyar with just under ten minutes of the first-half remaining.
Speaking via BBC WM Sport, Jon said; "He was struggling to breathe. He said after about fifteen minutes his throat had swollen up. So I think he may have a virus. He was just lacking, he just couldn't get a breath, so obviously he was so fatigued.
"I thought he was a threat as well, I thought we missed him when he came off, but hopefully we'll get him right for Saturday and see if we can release the lads again and get them fresh for the Bolton game."
