Unfortunately, the Blues slumped to their first home defeat of the 2016/17 campaign as a second-half collapse saw Maidstone win by three-goals-to-one in front of 1,912 fans on Saturday afternoon.

The scores were level at the break as Chester striker James Alabi had cancelled out Anthony Acheampong’s twentieth-minute opener. But second-half goals from Ben Greenhalgh and Alex Flisher gave the Stones the points as they move up to tenth in the table after securing their first win of the season.

Eighteenth-placed Chester return to league action on Tuesday as they travel to Holker Street where they will take on Barrow AFC.
