On Tuesday evening Walsall Football Club's record signing Andreas Makris made his club debut as he took to the field during the Saddlers' EFL Cup Round One defeat to Yeovil Town.

Andreas, who joined the club from Anorthosis Famagusta for a fee somewhere in the region of £300,000, replaced on-loan Burnley winger Josh Ginnelly after sixty-three minutes of play and almost made an immediate impact as he saw an effort blocked by Yeovil 'keeper Artur Krysiak, who was alert to get his legs in the way of the shot.

Sadly Andreas couldn't help the Saddlers secure victory as they were eventually defeated by two extra-time goals to nil in front of 2,699 at Banks's Stadium.
