Various sections of the press are today reporting that Rotherham United have tabled a bid for Walsall's Welsh international striker Tom Bradshaw as the former Shrewsbury Town man looks set to be at the centre of another summer of speculation.
Walsall are understood to be seeking around £900,000 for Bradshaw, who has just one-year remaining on his club contract, but the Millers are understood to have offered somewhere in the region of £500,000, which would be a new club record, with the bid likely to include several performance based add-ons.
Rotherham's Chairman Tony Stewart has hinted at a bid, and also suggested that the Millers are not the only club with an offer on the table, speaking to The Star, he said; “When you get into negotiations with agents, with players, you’re not the only club in town. There are other clubs there. It’s protracted negotiations. It’s two, three times you’re seeing the agent, the player, and it does take time.
"But good players do take longer and cost a little bit more. What we do know is that, in the final analysis, by taking our time, with good preparation, you feel more confident that the possibility of getting a better player is there.”
