Walsall goalkeeper Liam Roberts, who has today joined Vanarama National League side Chester on a season-long loan, has spoken to club journalists and has discussed his desire to make as many appearances as he can as he seeks to gain more all-important experience.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Liam said; "This is a massive opportunity for me to prove what I can do. Walsall have been excellent for me over the last couple of years and I want to stay here and keep progressing under the coaching staff because they’ve done so well for me.
“But the next step in my career is game development. If I can get as many games as I can under my belt with Chester, in that environment, then it’ll be a very good season for me. They get good crowds and play against some big clubs, the likes of Tranmere, so this will be a great experience for me and I can’t wait to get started.”
