Midfielder Sam Mantom, who recently completed a switch to Walsall's Sky Bet League One rivals Scunthorpe United, has taken to Twitter to thank the club's players, staff and fans for their support during his time at the club.
Speaking via Twitter, Sam said; "I would like to thank the staff, players and supporters of Walsall Football Club for the last four years. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing at the Bescot after starting there as a young lad."
Sam also went on to clarify what happened before his departure, insisting that he did inform the club of his decision to move on, he said; "Time came to move on and start a fresh challenge and my agent and I communicated this to the club before my contract expired."
The Stourbridge born midfielder, who made over one-hundred-and-fifty appearances in Walsall shirt finished his statement by wishing the club all the best for the 2016/17 campaign, he said; "It's been a pleasure meeting and working with so many top people and I sincerely wish the club all the best for the coming season."
