Walsall defender Theo Vassell was named in Chester's starting XI as they took on Altrincham in the latest of their friendlies ahead of the upcoming Vanarama National League campaign.
The match, which was played in front of just over five-hundred fans at the Robins' J.Davidson Stadium, saw Chester maintain their unbeaten start to pre-season with a hard fought draw against hosts Altrincham.
The Blues took a lead mid-way through the first half courtesy of Kane Richards' fine finish from Jordan Chapell's corner. Altrincham turned the game on its head in the second half with Damien Reeves and Danny Hattersley equalising, then sending their side into the lead.
However Chester would go on to equalise through with seven minutes of normal time remaining as James Alabi finished from Jordan Chapell's precision pass to ensure a draw on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
