Walsall Manager Jon Whitney has taken part in a series of interviews as he and his backroom team continue to prepare for the 2016/17 League One campaign, and has discussed the possibility of re-signing Everton defender Matthew Pennington, who enjoyed a successful loan spell towards the end of last season.
Jon, who was speaking via the Express & Star, said; “I would love to take him back but now he has broken in (at Everton) it is difficult. If I was his agent, I would be looking for him to go into the Championship, realistically. The attraction again is I will have a small squad and they (loan players) will play games.”
