With Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, who has been the subject of a bid from Arsenal, set to make a decision on his future, it is understood that the Premier League winning Foxes have installed Watford striker Troy Deeney as their number one target.
27-year-old Deeney, who began his professional career with Walsall, departed the Banks’s Stadium in the summer of 2010 for a fee of £500,000, with the deal also said to include a series of add-ons such as a sell-on fee and performance related bonuses.
If Vardy completes a move to the Emirates Stadium, Leicester are expected to bid upwards of £15,000,000 for Deeney, meaning the Saddlers could pocket 20% of the potential £14,500,000 profit.
Meanwhile, Vardy who is currently with the rest of Roy Hodgson's England squad as they continue to prepare for Saturday's UEFA Euro 2016 opening clash with Russia, could earn former club Fleetwood Town a tidy sum as they too negotiated a sell-on clause in his original transfer agreement.
