Following Monday's news that he'd turned down the club's offer of a new one-year contract, winger Milan Lalkovic has spoken to Express & Star's Walsall correspondent Joseph Masi, and discussed some of the reasons behind his departure.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Milan said; “Walsall offered me a deal but I didn’t like what they offered. I thought they would offer me a bit more because they knew other clubs were interested in me. I was third top goal scorer last season, got a lot of assists and was part of a team that almost got promoted.
“The terms offered were not what I was expecting. But my decision is nothing to do with the club as a whole. Walsall is a fantastic club. I love Walsall fans, I love the staff and I love the whole club. It’s only the terms of the contract I didn’t like.”
