Walsall Football Club could be dealt another major blow ahead of the 2016/17 Sky Bet League One campaign as wing back Jason Demetriou is believed to be closing on a move to the Saddlers' League One rivals Southend United.
28-year-old, Newham born Demetriou joined the Saddlers from Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta last summer, and went on to make fifty-seven appearances over the course of the campaign.
If confirmed, Jason's departure will leave a major void in Walsall manager Jon Whitney's attacking and defensive options as the 2016/17 campaign edges ever closer.
