
It has now been confirmed that wing back Jason Demetriou, who earlier this week rejected Walsall's offer of a new two-year contract, has agreed terms on a move to the Saddlers' Sky Bet League One rivals Southend United.
28-year-old, Newham born Demetriou joined the Saddlers from Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta last summer, and went on to make fifty-seven appearances over the course of the campaign.
Jason, who has is likely to pen a two-year deal with the Roots Hall club, will undergo a medical and is set to complete the move on Friday, 1st July following the expiration of his Walsall deal.
