Several former Walsall players will be in action later today as the Walsall Football Supporters' Trust's Legends side take on Wednesbury Athletic in the inaugural Margot Martini Cup.
The Walsall legends will be managed by fans' favourite Chris Marsh, ably assisted by fellow ex-Saddlers defender Stuart Ryder.
The match, which will be played at Chasetown’s Scholars Ground, will kick-off at 3:00pm and be in aid of two-year-old Margot Martini who sadly passed away after suffering from extremely rare dual lineage Leukaemia complications.
Full Squad | Jimmy Walker, Craig Pead, Ian Roper, Dale Moon, Mark Taylor, Sean Geddes, Wayne Thomas, Darren Wrack, Kris Taylor, Martin O'Connor, Dean Keates, Brian Palgrave, John Hodge, Martin Butler, Darren Byfield, and George Bowerman.
Supporters are welcome to attend the game and can purchase tickets on the gate for £4 for adults and £2 for children with under 6s gaining entry for FREE.
There will be a marquee and licensed bar for the event so supporters can spent the day in the sun, watching their Walsall heroes with a drink in hand!
Money raised on the day will go towards the Team Margot foundation in what will be a day to celebrate Margot’s short but inspirational life. For more information on Margot’s story, visit teammargot.com.
