Walsall Captain Adam Chambers has spoken to club journalists ahead of Thursday evening's Sky Bet League 1 Play-Off Semi-Final Second Leg clash with Barnsley, and has insisted that the team and it's supporters have to keep believing as they go into the match three-goals behind.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Adam, who recently penned a new contract that will see him remain with the club until at least the summer of 2017, said; “We’ve left ourselves a lot to do but it’s up to us to rise to the challenge. We were obviously very disappointed with the first leg. We wanted to stay in the game and keep it tight but it didn’t work out that way. We were disappointed with the goals we conceded, as you always are, but particularly the first one just before half-time.
“I felt we played ok at times and we had a few chances where we could have got one or two. It didn’t happen for us but we’ve got to dust ourselves down and we can’t feel sorry for ourselves.
“We’re going to have to come out all guns blazing and put on a performance on Thursday. We’ve got to be upbeat and have a bright few days. We’ve got to keep believing. If we perform to our best, then we’ll give ourselves a chance. We’ve had ups and downs this season and we’ve bounced back many times. We need one more now.”
