On Saturday morning, Walsall's Under 18s will travel North as they take on Port Vale Under 18s in the latest Football League Youth Alliance (North West) fixture of the season.
Neil Woods' Saddlers most recent Youth Alliance outing took place last weekend and saw them defeat Burnley by three-goals-to-one, as a first-half Tobias Hayles-Docherty brace was followed up by a William Shorrock goal, ten minutes into the second half.
The result sees the Saddlers sit third in the table, three points behind league leaders Wigan Athletic and second-placed Bury, who are tied on fifty points.
Walsall have won fourteen of their twenty-five alliance games, drawing five and losing six. Wigan and Bury both have two games in hand over the Saddlers and seem likely to take the battle for the title to the final few games of the season.
Port Vale's most recent Alliance outing also took place last weekend and saw them defeated by title-chasing Bury, as the Shakers ran out winners by two-goals-to-nil.
Tomorrow's game is scheduled to kick-off at 11:00am.
