Walsall's Interim Head Coach Jon Whitney has spoken to club journalists following Tuesday evening's Sky Bet League 1 draw with Swindon Town, and has praised winger Kieron Morris, who came on as a second half substitute to salvage a point for his side.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Jon said; “He’s a good player and he is always my next one – you’d have no problem with putting him on. He’s a match winner and can score goals. He almost got one against Gillingham last Tuesday and nearly scored again on Saturday.
“We need ball carriers on the pitch when people are getting fatigued and Kieron does that all day in training. His attitude when he’s not been playing has been fantastic. He goes in early and he’s one of the last to go home. He does his work and he never grumbles.
“I’m not saying he’s happy with not starting – he’s really frustrated – but he does it the right way. And if you look at our bench, they all do it the right way, and when called upon they do a really good job. The bench is really strong and that’s very pleasing for me. Kieron got his rewards last night.”
