Walsall's Interim Head Coach Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press following Saturday afternoon's last-gasp win over Southend United, and has insisted that the team's current success is down to the club as a whole, from the Chairman to the administration staff, everybody has a part to play.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Jon said; "We have got a reputation at Walsall for doing things the right way. But it’s a team effort. It’s the chairman, the administration staff, the staff that work in the community and the fans. It is something that takes time to build and that is why it is special and that is why we will deserve to be where we end up at the end of the season.
“But we have got to keep driving on. I have been here for 12/13 years – I have seen the bad times. We deserve this chance and we are going to grab it with both hands, drive it forward and see where it takes us.”
