On Thursday morning, Walsall's Interim Head Coach Jon Whitney met with members of the local press and offered an update on his squad's current injury issues ahead of Saturday's meeting with Southend United.
Jon confirmed that defender James O'Connor, who has missed the last three games after suffering a calf injury during the Saddlers' Sky Bet League 1 victory over Colchester United, has made a return to training ahead of this weekend's clash with the Shrimpers.
Whitney also discussed top-scorer Tom Bradshaw will be monitored after he was forced to miss the Saddlers' midweek victory over Gillingham, a result that saw the Reds move back into third position in League 1.
