Following Sunday afternoon's departure of Walsall Head Coach Sean O'Driscoll, several named have been suggested to take over the now vacant managerial position, one of which is ex-West Bromwich Albion coach Keith Downing.
Currently the Head Coach of the England Under 20s side, Downing is odds on with Football League sponsors Sky Bet to become the next permanent Walsall manager, following a flurry of betting activity.
Keith, who is the uncle of Walsall Vice Captain Paul Downing, began his managerial career at Cheltenham Town during the 2007/08 season, before joining West Brom in 2009, where he enjoyed various roles including assistant Head Coach to England manager Roy Hodgson, and Assistant Manager to Steve Clarke.
He left the Hawthorns in January, following a backroom reshuffle by new boss Tony Pulis, but is understood to be keen to get back into club football.
