Earlier today, Walsall Football Club announced the appointment of Sean O'Driscoll as Head Coach following the recent departure of Dean Smith and Richard O'Kelly. Following the announcement, the club have also confirmed the structure of the backroom.
The 'Three Wise Men', John Ward, Jon Whitney and Neil Cutler, who have been in caretaker charge since Smith's departure, will remain with the club, and have been handed additions to their former roles.
Head of the Club's Medical Department Jon Whitney has been promoted to the role of first team and performance coach, along with becoming an Assistant to the new Head Coach.
Goalkeeping Coach Neil Cutler has also been promoted to the role of coach, with a key focus on developing goalkeepers.
While John Ward, who had been seen as an early favourite for the job, retains his role as professional development coach, with the primary aim of nurturing the club’s youngsters.
