Media reports suggest that Walsall Football Club are set to appoint Sean O'Driscoll as their new manager following the recent departure of Dean Smith to Sky Bet Championship side Brentford.
Wolverhampton-born O'Driscoll, a former midfielder, has seen his odds slashed to 4/6 by league sponsor Sky Bet, and, according to the Coventry Telegraph, is understood to have held successful discussions with the Saddlers' hierarchy.
O'Driscoll finished his playing career with over six-hundred games under his belt, has gone on to have a successful managerial career with several sides such as, AFC Bournemouth, Doncaster Rovers, Crawley Town, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City.
Sean led Doncaster to the Championship during his first full season in charge, and had to operate on a very small budget, experience that would no doubt benefit him if he were to be employed by the club.
