Newly appointed Walsall Football Club Head Coach Sean O'Driscoll has been named as the Football League's Manager of the Week following Sunday afternoon's televised Sky Bet League 1 victory over Port Vale.

O'Driscoll, who replaced former boss Dean Smith, led his side to a two-nil victory as substitute Jordan Cook made a big impact on the match, bagging a brace to end his recent goal drought.

The Football League's article states; "O'Driscoll began his spell at Banks's Stadium with all three points as the Saddlers climbed to second in Sky Bet League 1.

"Port Vale were on top for much of the match, but the inspired introduction of Jordan Cook turned the game on its head - the sub scoring twice in a 2-0 win."
