Following Walsall Football Club's Sky Bet League 1 victory over Shrewsbury Town, Shrews boss Micky Mellon met with members of his side's media team and discussed the major talking points of the game, and insisted that Ian Black's red card was the major turning point of the tie.

Speaking via ShrewsburyTown.com, Micky said; "We're disappointed to lose a local derby, especially after getting the first goal. I think you would have to say it's (Ian Black's red card) a major turning point when it's one each.

"He's disappointed himself because you've got to show more experience than that. He hasn't touched him but he gave the referee a decision to make and unfortunately it hasn't gone our way.

"It's a great little move for the goal. But Larnell complained five minutes before the end of the first half that he'd tweaked his groin. I thought in the first half there was good spells for both teams.

"To score when we did and the type of goal we did, it came at a really good time. We've got to do better around our own 18-yard box but it's taken a deflection and gone in."
