Walsall defender Jason Demetriou has spoken to club journalists following Monday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 victory over Peterborough United, and, along with praising the Posh for being a well-organised side, has discussed his goal along insisting that he will be happy to claim it despite the ball taking a deflection on it's way to goal.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Jason said; “I thought we deserved the win. Peterborough are a good, well-organised side and a different team to the one we played in September. It was such a hard game, being our second in three days. It wasn’t our best performance but it was probably our best result of the season so far.
“I get forward enough so I should be getting more goals and assists. The more goals I can contribute to the team the better. I saw Fordey pick up the ball and I knew he was going to drive at the defender. I didn’t expect him to pass because Fordey loves a shot, but it was a great assist.
“I decided to hit it towards goal and it got a little deflection and it went in. I can’t take the goal against Chesterfield – but I’ll take that one!”
Jason also went on to discuss this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Rochdale, you can read the full interview, here.
