Walsall Football Club have today appointed former Bournemouth and Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll as their new Head Coach on an 18 month contract, following the recent departure of Dean Smith and Richard O'Kelly to Sky Bet Championship side Brentford.
Wolverhampton-born Sean O'Driscoll, a former midfielder who finished his playing career with over six-hundred games under his belt, led Doncaster Rovers to the Championship during his first full season in charge, and had to operate on a very small budget, experience that will no doubt benefit him during his time at the Banks's Stadium.
Sean's most recent position was Assistant Manager to then Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, a job he held for just a few months as he, and several other members of the club's backroom set-up, departed the Anfield outfit following the sacking of Rodgers in October.
Sean also has managerial experience with clubs such as Crawley Town, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City, along with a spell in charge of the England Under 19s, a position he left to join Liverpool in July 2015.
