Walsall Physio Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press, and offered an update on the injury status of top-scorer Tom Bradshaw, revealing that the striker has some damage to his ankle, but is expected to be fit very soon.
Speaking following Saturday's Emirates FA Cup Second Round victory over Chesterfield, Jon confirmed; "We've had a scan and it did show some damage to the ankle but nothing significant. There's nothing really torn, the ankle's just been stressed but it will settle down and it is improving day by day.
"We don't want to rush him because if you try to rush a high ankle sprain, you can set the player back and put him out for three or four weeks.
"So we've just had to be a little bit cautious with him and see how he progresses this week. We're hoping he could be fit for the weekend but we are not going to risk him unless he can prove to me he's fit. Luckily we've got an extra day to recover this week."
