Later this morning, Walsall Football Club's Under 18s side play host to top-of-the-table Tranmere Rovers in the latest Football League Youth Alliance (North West) fixture of the season.
Neil Woods' side, who currently sit third in the table, arrive at the match following a midweek FA Youth Cup First Round defeat to Coventry City.
The young Saddlers have enjoyed a strong start to their Youth Alliance campaign, winning five of their opening nine games, including a six-nil hammering of Morecambe mid-way through October, and could rise to the top of the table with a win, while their opponents Tranmere could solidify their position if they were to secure all three points.
Rovers were also knocked out of the FA Youth Cup earlier this week as they suffered defeat at the hands of Carlisle United. The 'Super White Army' also suffered defeat during their most recent Alliance outing as second placed Bury won by three-goals-to-nil.
Today's match takes place at the Birmingham Football Association's headquarters on Ray Hall Lane in Great Barr, and is set to kick off at 11:00am.
