According to reports on the TEAMTalk.com website, Walsall manager Dean Smith has agreed terms with Sky Bet Championship side Brentford, and could be unveiled as their new manager over the coming hours.

Neither Walsall nor Brentford have offered any statement since the story broke over the weekend, however speculation has been growing for the last forty-eight hours and all now points to a deal having been agreed.

Forty-four year-old Smith, who took charge of the Saddlers in 2011 following the sacking of Chris Hutchings, looks set to take the helm following the departure of Marinus Dijkhuizen's at the end of September and the collapse of talks with Swansea City Assistant manager Pep Clotet late last week.
