Walsall defender Jason Demetriou has spoken to club journalists ahead of this weekend's Emirates FA Cup First Round clash with Fleetwood Town, and has discussed his side's strong team ethic, insisting that the team has what it takes to secure promotion at the end of the season.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Jason said; “It’s a great squad here. Everyone works so hard and from the staff, young players and experienced players - it’s a team effort.
“You see it on the pitch but if you come to the training ground you really see the work ethic from everyone. The boys have done an excellent job so far this season and hopefully we can stay in the running for the rest of the season.”
He continued; “It’s just belief now. We have to start believing that we can do it and I think slowly we’re starting to think that we can stay up there. We could be one of the best teams in this league. It’s all down to us what we do from now.”
