Telegraph reporter John Percy is today suggesting that a deal between Walsall manager Dean Smith and Sky Bet Championship side Brentford could be close following discussions over a potential move took place on Sunday afternoon.
Smith, who took charge of the Saddlers in 2011, looks set to take the helm following the sacking of Marinus Dijkhuizen at the end of September and the collapse of talks with Swansea City Assistant manager Pep Clotet late last week.
