Walsall's recently arrived Manchester City loanee George Evans has briefly spoken to the local press following his goalscoring debut, where he helped the Saddlers secure all three points away to Barnsley on Tuesday evening.
Speaking to BBC WM 95.6, George, who had only joined on a 28-day deal earlier in the afternoon, said; "It's a good start. One to remember. I'm happy with any goal and the team played very well."
George also went on to discuss his first impressions of the Saddlers, revealing how welcoming the players were when he first boarded the coach to Oakwell, he said; "As soon as I got on the coach, the lads were very welcoming. They're a tight-knit group and made it easy for me to settle in. They put in an excellent performance, especially the way they play it out from the back."
He also revealed that former Walsall loanee Jordy Hiwula was an influence on his decision to accept a loan switch to the Banks's Stadium, he said; "Jordy only had good things to say about the club. We've just got to keep building on this and get more wins under our belt."
