Earlier this evening, a Walsall Football Club XI travelled to Butlin Road to take on Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South side Rugby Town in the First Round of this season's Birmingham Senior Cup.
The game was a tight, competitive affair with both sides having attempts on goal and creating good spells of attacking play, however neither side managed to snatch a winner as the tie ended all-square and progressed straight to penalties.
Walsall emerged victorious in the shoot-out, scoring four to their opponents' two, with young goalkeeper Dan Jezeph starring alongside midfielder Jordon Sangha, who bagging the winner.
The result sees that Saddlers into Round Two of a competition they haven't won in over twenty years.
