Walsall manager Dean Smith has today been named among the nominees for the Football League's 'Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month' for August.
Smith has led his side to the top of league 1, and has seen his side remain undefeated, enjoying wins against Southend United, Rochdale, Coventry City and Blackpool along with an opening day draw with Oldham Athletic.
The other nominees are Sheffield United's Nigel Adkins, whose side have notched four straight wins after losing their opening match 4-0 to Gillingham, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink of Burton Albion, who has seen his side adapt well to League 1 following promotion with four victories from five games,and Gillingham boss Justin Edinburgh has been nominated after steering his side to an unbeaten start to the campaign with a haul of 11 points from five games.
