Following Saturday afternoon's pre-season victory over Luton Town, Walsall manager Dean Smith spoke to the local press and discussed Spanish central-defender Adrián Pazó Alonso, who recently joined the club for a trial spell.

Speaking to Joseph Masi of the Express & Star, Smith said; "I thought he did OK. It was always going to be tough for him. Just speaking to him this week, he has never played three at the back before. It was an interesting game for him. But the system worked and he was part of it.”

25-year-old, Vigo-born Pazó had a brief trial with Sky Bet League 2 outfit AFC Wimbledon earlier this summer, but suffered an injury and was released.
