Following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 victory over previously unbeaten Coventry City, Walsall midfielder Romaine Sawyers has spoken to the club's official website and praised his side's character, insisting that this season's squad is more motivated than the last.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk journalist Daniel Briggs, Romaine said; “We showed once again that we’ve got a new character to our team. Last year, when we conceded, we appeared to panic a bit and there was a chance that we would concede again. This time, we’re getting on with it and showing a real togetherness and strength coming into the back end of games.
“Everyone is together. I’m not saying we didn’t have that last year but everyone has a mutual agenda: everyone wants to go in the same direction. Everyone knows what we want, and everyone believes in what we want, and we’re showing it.”
