Ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Coventry City, Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the local press and revealed that the club currently has two players on trial as he seeks to strengthen his squad.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said; “I have got a couple of players in training with us at the moment so we are having a good look at them. We need to make sure we strengthen. It only takes one tackle for a player to get injured and they are out.
“You need to be on the ball and make sure you have a strong enough squad. With the amount of games we are playing, Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday, it is a tough ask for a group of players and that is why the squad will get used and we need to strengthen.
“It is moving but very slowly, as always.”
