Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the local press following Saturday's Sky Bet League 1 victory over previously undefeated Coventry City, and has hailed his sides potential, and insisted that his overall aim is to win the league.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said; “Our aim, always, is to win the league. At the start of the season, that is what you want to do.
“There is an awful lot of potential – just look at Reece Flanagan, who was unlucky to miss out on Saturday. He has been involved in the previous three games and we won all three but I left him out and it just shows we have some really good young players coming through. The more experience they get, the better they will get.
“The potential is there but it is only a word, they have to fulfil it. Game by game, we will try and get three points and see where it takes us.”
